Dr. Rozenn PERRIGOT initiated the project of launching the Center in Franchising, Retail & Service Chains. Creating this Center was the logical continuation of her involvement in research and teaching franchising, retail and service chains since the 2000s. She exclusively focuses her research on franchising, retail and service chains, especially management (internal communication, organizational structure of chains, franchisor/franchisee relationships and conflicts, technical and organizational know-how); strategic marketing and communication (external communication, social networks, corporate social responsibility); performance (efficiency, unit performance, network performance, survival); and strategy and development (franchisee attraction, e-commerce, internationalization, micro-franchising).
Franchising, retail and service chains rely on HUMAN relationships. The Center in Franchising, Retail & Services Chains finds itself with a view to relationship, dialog and connection between the academic world (students and researchers) and the companies organized as networks.
Rozenn PERRIGOT – Associate Professor of Business Administration – IGR-IAE de Rennes – Director of the Center in Franchising, Retail & Service Chains
She is Associate Professor of Business Administration (since 2005) and accredited to supervise research (HDR) (since 2012) at IGR-IAE Rennes – University of Rennes 1. She is the Director of the Msc in “Franchising, Retail and Service Chains”. She is the Vice-President of the Scientific Committee of IGR-IAE Rennes and Director of the Marketing and Management department of the Center for Resarch in Economics and Management (CREM UMR CNRS 6211). She is also an Affiliate Professor at ESC Rennes School of Business where she teaches Franchising. She is the Secretary of the International Society of Franchising.
In September 2008, she created the MSc in “Franchising, Retail & Service Chains”, with a group in apprenticeship (“Management des Réseaux et de la Franchise”) at IGR-IAE Rennes. In September 2012, she opened a second group with all classes in English language (“Franchising and Network Management”). She teaches classes in network management, network marketing, service marketing, organizational structure of chains, among others. Moreover, she has taught franchising at ESADE Business School (Spain), Franchise Management School – Beijing Normal University (China), and the University of Paris-Dauphine.
During the past ten years, she has had the opportunity to lead several research programs on franchising, retail and service chains. A program regarding the plural form in franchise chains and another regarding European legislation, conflicts and performance among franchise chains were supported by the French National Research Agency. She also led and co-led three research programs for the French Franchise Federation. She positions her research using a multi-disciplinary (Business, Law and Economics) and international approach.
She promotes the findings of her research to franchising, retail and service chains professionals through the writing of press articles and participation at different professional conferences organized by the French Franchise Federation and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, among others. She also promotes her research in the international academic scene. Indeed, for the past ten years, Rozenn PERRIGOT has published over fifty articles in international peer-reviewed journals such as the Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Small Business Management, International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management, as well as book chapters. Moreover, she has presented over sixty papers at international conferences, such as the International Society of Franchising (ISoF), the Economics and Management of Networks Group (EMNet), the European Federation of the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (EuroCHRIE), and the European Institute of Retailing And Service Studies (EIRASS).
